29 Aug 6 Refreshing Cocktail Recipes Featuring Herbs and Microgreens
Summer’s winding down and the weather’s cooling off, but don’t let that stop you. Celebrate everyone’s favorite season of the year and make yourself one of these cocktails, which feature—believe it or not—herbs and microgreens.

Watermelon Mojito
Ingredients:
2 watermelon chunks
1 lime, juiced
Handful of mint leaves
2 ounces white rum
Simple syrup* (to taste)
Ice
Directions:
1. Tear mint into small pieces and muddle (crushing/bruising herbs/fruits—use cocktail muddler, pestle, or even the back of a spoon) with watermelon
2. Add rum, lime juice, simple syrup, and ice cubes
3. Stir
3. Pour into glass and garnish with mint leaf
*Combine equal parts of sugar and water in a saucepan on medium high, and allow to boil. Remove from heat once sugar dissolves.
Rosemary Gin Fizz
Ingredients:
1/4 cup (2 ounces) gin
1 tablespoon (1/2 ounce) fresh lemon juice
1 tablespoon (1/2 ounce) rosemary simple syrup (recipe below)
1/3 cup (3 ounces) club soda
1 lemon slice (garnish)
1 rosemary sprig (garnish)
Directions:
1. Combine gin, lemon juice, and rosemary simple syrup in cocktail shaker with ice
2. Shake to combine
3. Pour into glass and add club soda
4. Garnish with a sprig of rosemary
*Prepare simple syrup as you would normally, but add rosemary to the mix. Discard after the sugar dissolves.
Micro Caesar
Ingredients:
1 oz vodka
2 dashes Tabasco
3 dashes freshly ground salt and pepper
4 dashes Worcestershire sauce
4 oz Mott’s Clamato
Pepperoni stick
Handful of radish and mustard micros
Directions:
1. Rim glass using lime juice and steak seasoning
2. Combine Clamato juice, vodka, worcestershire, and Tabasco in glass with ice
3. Garnish with radish and mustard micros, and pepperoni stick
Pisco Sour
Ingredients:
1 egg white
2 1/2 ounces Pisco Brandy
1/2 ounce simple syrup
3/4 ounce fresh lemon juice
Handful of sorrel
Directions:
1. Combine all ingredients into a blender
2. Pour into glass
3. Garnish with sorrel
Strawberry Basil Lemonade
Ingredients:
1 Large strawberry
3 Basil leaves
1 oz Bulldog Gin
2 oz Fresh Lemonade
Club soda
Directions:
1. Muddle the strawberry and basil leaves in tall glass
2. Fill with ice and set aside
3. Add the gin and lemonade to a shaker and fill with ice
4. Shake, and strain into the prepared glass
5. Top with a splash of club soda, garnish with a strawberry and a basil leaf
Shiso-yuzu mojito
Ingredients:
1 1/2 ounces citrus-flavoured vodka
1 tablespoon brown sugar
4 or 5 fresh shiso leaves
1 teaspoon of zested yuzu rind
juice of 1/4 lime
club soda
Directions:
1. Tear the shiso leaves into large pieces
2. Muddle with the brown sugar and yuzu rind in a mixing glass
3. Add the vodka, lime juice, and a few ice cubes and stir
4. Pour into an old-fashioned glass and top up with club soda
5. Garnish with a shiso leaf
